Why?

I've come to realize things that I find interesting, mainstream society today finds boring or unwanted. I'm talking about things like chess, television shows, and reading. Some of the people I work with don't even know how its played or they look down on it because it is slow paced or doesn't involve a joystick or keyboard. I mean come on... some of them wont even play certain video games cause the graphics aren't good enough quality. Really seriouslly, you're gonna sacrifice story or complexity for an inane game with high quality graphics. Come on just go out side and do something real, at least that would have some great graphics. And telivision, it seems that they will cancel any show that has quality and substance and renew shows that are thoughtless and simple. I mean really why is Jersey Shore still on the air? It is totally useless and brain numbing, the thing is it is so popular, that right there tells me that most of america is at a sixth grade level mentally. People will watch shows that star people that should have been euthanized long ago. But show that require even the most basic level of thought to get are passed over and not even ended with closure, they are just let go. And now on to reading, just the other day I was on the bus reading (on my phone, I know kind of the thing I complaining about but it's easier to travel with just my phone than with book and phone both.) and my coworker scoffed at me and asked me why I didn't just play a game on the phone... But wait it gets better, when I switched to a real book as he passed told me that reading was lame. So I've come to the conclusion that in a little while we will be at the same point the movie Idiocracy.
